about – q&a

although many blu-ray releases don’t warrant 1080p resolution, it shouldn’t be forgotten that sources compress worse in lower resolutions, even if you make up for the file size reduction, and push it into the bitrate, it will still look different and worse.
so, in case you might wonder why there are so many 1080p releases, and so little of lower resolutions, that’s the answer. because i think it looks better. i often try out lower resolutions, but often decide to go for the higher ones in the end, to suit my eyes.

the majority of efforts goes into subtitle retiming, and editing, and qcing.
for requests, i have to sadly say that i cannot take any, though i listen to them at least, but as a project usually takes 1-2 months, or even years in worst luck, it’d be pointless to do any promises.
i’m dumping the .srt file support. although i prefer to offer as much support as possible, i don’t wanna waste the time involved in it anymore.
the .ass file goes seperately now, in case some edits might find its way afterwards in, without having to remux the whole mkv file again.
the newest .ass files you’ll find on the irc xdcc bot [niizk]Kino provided by faufnir.
tokyo godfathers got dumped and replaced with the release from Iznjie Biznjie.

container: matroska (.mkv extension)
video codec: h264
audio codecs: flac, dts, ac3, aac, vorbis
subtitle format: ass

although it took really long to get back into the game, the support for h264 10bit matured for a good while.
i try to put up a few new releases, as well as redoing a few things, as i barely can stand any of my old releases by now.
i am not sure how far i will get, but getting things done after two years doesn’t feel too bad.

    • a nice piece of work, which lacks a proper dvd source though. i only got a broken r1 release, which isn’t the most pleasant to work with.
if anyone got access to r2, that’d be worth a try instead.

  4. Hello! When I try to click on your packlist page, I get a server not found message. Has the page been moved?

  5. Please, come back, neo2sonic! We need people like you to save us from crap such as Coalgirls, which is currently plaguing the area where before good rippers such as yourself used to stand.

I hereby found the Church of Great Anime Rippers and declare you have a place in its pantheon. :D
