description:

In the latter part of World War II, a boy and his sister, orphaned when their mother is killed in the firebombing of Tokyo, are left to survive on their own in what remains of civilian life in Japan. The plot follows this boy and his sister as they do their best to survive in the Japanese countryside, battling hunger, prejudice, and pride in their own quiet, personal battle.

  3. 1: it’s still shared on emule.
    2: it’s one of the earliest releases, which i do not approve of visually anymore.
    aside from that though, the dvd is extremely bad in quality, which is why i won’t reencode it either unless i get my hands on the new dvd transfer, which got released just lately this year.

  5. So… are you still planning on re-encoding this?
    Just asking, ’cause I think you make some of the best anime rips on the net, and I would really like to get my hands on a crystal-clear version of this masterpiece.

  6. there’s no sight of a new dvd transfer up to now anywhere, so without a better source, no new encode will be done.
    if anyone can provide, just contact me.
